The words started about the younger generation thinking they are the generation of fun.
Then drifted to our generation who knew that a party the night before did not mean you had the next day off sleeping, mostly because the old man would always give you no grace. If we were man enough to party, you were expected to front up regardless the next day.
Age of Fun is for Everyone 11-6-19
The age of fun is for everyone.
Not the prerogative of the young.
Some think they invented the act.
Of life’s game, now that is not fact.
Races, balls and any social fair.
In their finery into the social glare.
Such saucy ladies from any age.
Hit the spaces of the social page.
Might drop a button, maybe two.
Still Keep classy in what they do.
As your numbers keep rising some.
The sense of party does not numb.
Our aim is not to party until we fall.
Miss half the party, no point at all.
We space ourselves to be at the end.
May see the sun round the morning bend.
When the frivolity is done, no time to shirk.
Tomorrow mate, you must turn up for work.
Don’t even ask for some ZZZZZZZ time grace.
What are you ? a sheila, can’t hack the pace ?
The morning stretch is tough I just have to say.
By lunch the headache has mostly gone away.
By sinking sun, now fatigued, the body dead.
You start to think and pray for your comfy bed.
A feed, do a yawn, say “Think for me an early one”
The old man nods, tested you, finished with his fun.
