Explore your youth as you must do.
You must be yourself, that is so true.
Test the boundaries, what is out there ?
While you do, I humbly ask, please be fair.
Include in your choice others, not just you.
Parents, friends and lovers, to name a few.
You arrived on earth with so much rejoice.
But any parents grief offers no such choice.
A mother and child share the same flesh.
Ignoring pain as ‘you’ met the world afresh.
A father’s quiet pride for when you succeed.
To reach that goal that ‘you’ chose to need.
Both have been young and lived just like you.
With love they share what they’ve been through.
Life is soooo short as you too will soon know.
With so many challenges as you live and grow.
So as you make your choice, as you can at will.
Consider wisely when you choose to pop the pill.
The one who bore the pain to give you breath.
Will try to understand when you flirt with death.
Just like you when we just had to do our thing.
Quantities of booze each party we would bring.
Too busy on ourselves to think of the home stay.
Where our parents waited, some would even pray.
The message plain to youth before they grow old.
They too will worry when their own kids act bold.
“The message eternal from the old to the young”
Please understand quite clearly if you go that way.
Those you leave behind, will be the ones that pay.
