A force like no other to be reckoned with:
To borrow from the old fly spray advertisement.
"Afraid of no one but the man with a can of Mortein"
Covid 19
Takes no notice of status, wealth, age or country.
"Tough as nails, afraid of no one except.
The hands with the vials of vaccine"
People, Pubs and the Covid King
The pubs of today are dying dead.
Seats are empty, the air like lead.
Back in the day, twas not like this.
Youthful base we would not miss.
Door open, had time, day was hot.
“Jono” was there, go in, why not.
Just the one I was sure would do.
Not so long before more than two.
Sid and Bill then joined us for a yarn.
Tractor parts we need for the farm.
Parts collected, enough time for lunch.
Prue and Sue made our mob a happy bunch.
Day stretching, maybe time to be on my way.
Sal and George an evening drink, why not stay.
The news and views passed through and round.
Who was doing who, new Goss was to be found.
Well time for home, fridge is empty, what for tea.
Then comes the saviour, meat tray win, number 33.
The pub scene of today is of people sitting all alone.
Suitably distanced sad faces, making love to their phone.
So for community and pubs sake team, take the jab.
Benefits old and young to have the fun that we had.
