An old bush saying describing a breakfast that consists only morning relief and a look around.
“The Battle of the Dawn”
Verse One:
Comes the time just after dawn.
Said goodbye to the slumber yawn.
Release the doggies from their cage.
Have heard me coming for an age.
A sharing time for all morning pee.
A look around what is there to see.
Just staring idly at the morning sky.
Startling pic of varied red hit the eye.
Verse Two:
Gotta go as peace is disappearing fast.
Mozzies coming for their morning task.
Like a flying squadron about to strike.
Hovered above exposed flesh of white.
My turn of speed surprised them some.
Outran most of them, except for one.
She took my blood but then she died.
Killed in the safety of my gauze inside.
Epilogue:
Worry not dear reader, I came to no harm.
The bloody skeeta only bit me on the arm.
Lesson learnt, next time I will go embalmed.
