Historic and Iconic Pub in Timber Creek "The Wayside Inn"

Updated: Dec 11, 2020

The scene is iconic Australia

In Australia's remotest territory/state. Northern Territory

2.5 hrs west of Katherine.

3 hrs east of Western Australia town of Kununurra

Umm.....Read the little sign of selling promotional singlets correctly......

"See You in the Northern Territory"

.

It looks, feels and is uniquely multicultural and still Aussie to the core.

Delve with me into the demographics of those who either work or pass through the doors to sample the large range of cool refreshing liquids on offer

See if you can match the personalities with the pics.

So you are heading into our great outback.

In your bullbar rig, shiny van off the back.

The distance is a trifle longer than you think.

Will you fuel and go or take the time for a drink.

Straight advice to you, Timber Creek is worth a stop.

Meet the crew, say gooday, you will find they are tops.

Perchance to stay a night, hit the Vic River, drop a line.

Shop has bait, the chances are good for a fish like mine.

Service is warm, beer is cold, food is great with great views.

What is the handbrake ? the only thing stopping you is YOU.

So take a chance to meet the friendly multinational crazy crew.

Callum:

Cheeky grin behind the sharp business brain.

He will keep grinin as long as you keep payin.

Jokes aside, a real top bloke is what I am sayin.

Fiona:

Her friendly easy style gives to all a welcome feel.

To stay a little longer before you hit the steering wheel.

You've come in for a cold one, next thing you have a meal.

Helen:

Her voice soon reveals high English Liverpool Twang.

From her computer corner alerted as the door bell rang.

Smiling, multi tasking listening also for the bar bell clang.

Billie:

With a glow that beams all the way across her face

A sparkling soul of her Maori Kiwi ancestral trace.

Makes one feel welcomed when you are in her space.

Danni:

A Kiwi with a nickname of an 'Eel', she serves beer.

With a flashing a grin spread wide from ear to ear.

No shit will you hear, real straight talker never fear.

Berti:

German base, shiny head with impressive black mop.

Berti turns up anywhere, everywhere around the shop.

Kinda quiet at first meet, find his funny bone has no stop.

Stu:

To some he is known as 'Elma Fudd' others as 'The Mayor'

Stu is just a solid community bloke, his time he freely shares.

Has many friends, few enemies, pull him down, you best beware.

Wyatt:

Wyatt Mac is a genuine horsey lad.

Rides with a seat that is not half bad.

Polite respectful, meet him, you'll be glad

Angus:

Angus into machinery and metal cans.

If it holds oil, has an engine, he is a fan.

Straight to the point, he is his own man.

Brian:

An unassuming salt of the earth.

Sitting quietly in his corner berth.

Gives respect, for all have worth.

Jacinta:

From home Cairns, to see more of life is her dream.

Chakra Manipura “lustrous gem” energy self-esteem.

Jacinta just adds much warmth and charm to the team.
