As calculated to be an easy daylight drive from my 'Mature Gap Year' experience near Tibooburra , far north western NSW to Goondiwindi border QLD town.
The plan, there is always a plan:
The plan was 4 to 5 weeks away, working and exploring the local area of Broken Hill before home to attack the '8 Mile' fix up list.
Five weeks turned to eight as that rain girl "La Nina" flooded access to the boundary 30 to 40 kms away and on frequent occasions all main road access out of the area.
A road check [35kms] that dry track to main road 'The Cut Line' Tibooburra to Wanaaring is ok.
A pre-daylight start should see me home early afternoon.
Naw fool me, I am not in charge as nature flexes muscles again.
As Mother nature dropped an early morning storm in my tracks, requiring a 40km turnaround via the Sunny Lake Vista, past the loaded floodplains springing to life.
Across bitumen road grids also growing grass, a key indicator of of a cracker season.
Through livestock grazing country of Bourke to Walget, full of grass and fat sheep and cattle.
From Moree to Goondiwindi the vista transforming to paddocks full of growing or just harvested crops.
To home base gate and a very warm welcome from the home insect variety.
