A time honoured occasion two people on show.
The groom hoping that nerves don’t show.
Looks right at his bride her face in a glow.
Sitting in silence are family and guests.
All present there are wishing their best.
Some women emotional fighting their tears.
Their menfolk sit quietly thinking cold beers.
Thinking with humour why not him too.
To do the hard yards been told what to do.
Oh dear it appears I have done a side track.
To what I was saying, I am heading right back.
Most in crowd have been there before.
Some are quite happy, others not sure.
Some experience reveals, vows are not without flaw.
Today not being theirs, those thoughts they’ll ignore.
Some ventured back to do the job twice.
Some extra brave souls, known to go trice.
Why is it so they feel compelled to return.
Cause true contentment is what all yearn.
Strongest emotion known to all mankind.
When deep love for them again they find.
Wipes out memories wipes out the pain
Love and peace floods heart and brain.
2. Celebration of Union and Goals 8-7-16
My son my boy now married man.
You have followed your life plan.
Thrilled you have found your mate.
That has sealed your NT fate.
You have run into a Raine Train.
One of Territory crocodile fame.
Of Coolibah crocs, Pugh’s the name.
Gun totin, chopper dangling, egg stealing game.
But was the nags, the dreams you shared.
Not quite sure if you were totally prepared.
None the less out of the square you dared.
For this was the life for which you cared.
3. An Ode to Fred and Mel 1-6-19.
On this day you have become just one.
Make each day fruitful with dollops of fun.
May your individualities remain for life.
Even though you are now man and wife.
They are what formed the attraction zone.
When fate intervened for two people alone.
Should there be some rocks on your given track.
May there be a map to find your own way back.
May you have the strength to conquer any test.
We gather here in unison to wish you all the best.
