Needs no words of explanation as what you read below stands on its own feet
“The Art of Trying” is a ‘balls and all’ account of life.
This is a book that was almost not written because the author thought she had, ‘had it far too easy’
And while it is true, Benita and Adam have succeeded, it wasn’t a simple easy ‘roll over in bed’
We are to be grateful that Benita was persuaded otherwise how important the sharing of her contacts and experiences have been and will be to many others down the track.
The book came to me rather than vice versa, fate is its own boss and takes no advice from anyone.
Myself as a father of three boys, am a reasonably good example of a ‘Thick Male’ devoid of willingness to engage deeply into such real life matters that the book covers.
I had a wall, a solid wall that still wasn’t fully broken with the agonising death of an 18 yr old, at a time when you think you have done the hard work of the baby bit, time to sit back and watch.
I was destined to be at her launch and listen to her book presentation because my own book launch was the same venue the following week.
I needed to see how a launch operated for my own launch planning.
I was destined to buy and read the book.
Nothing in life is a simple ‘Same size fits all’ summary.
The baby making game for some is simple, sometimes unwanted.
For others it is a short struggle, then success, and some a long struggle with no success.
The tic tok of our lifespan spares nobody.
Most extraordinary for me is to have read such a book complete with all the inner physical and mental descriptions. Even more extraordinary that I found it hard to put down.
The book broke through the wall giving me a greater understanding of deeper human emotions.
You have Increased my knowledge and understanding tenfold on the fronts of physical, medical terms and mental aspects of these complicated creatures us men, lust for, love and live with.
Reading your book after burying our own child, has increased my appreciation of how precious the making of life is. It is not a gift to be taken lightly.
Thank you Benita.
You have opened up your family’s private life to assist others facing similar difficulties.
Your warmth and passion in the book show depth and genuine caring.
“There are those that live to take.
There are those that live to give.
Special are the ones that make.
Special time to how others live.
They lay their souls open bare.
Of shattered hopes and dreams.
Shared pain in times of despair.
Helps others paths, so it seems.”
